MY THOUGHTS...

In Freak the Mighty, I thought that this book had a couple of valuable lessons. One of them was that there are two roads to take in life and you can only walk down one. You can switch to another path once you feel a little insecure about the one you've started to take, but you can only walk down one that you feel most honest, secure, and right to glide down in. Just know that which ever one you choose, whether it's good or dishonoring, it's YOUR CHOICE and not anyone else's.
Another lesson (most likely half theme-half lesson) is that you have to be yourself. You only have one body, not two, so it's pretty much impossible to be someone else. We all have someone or something we look up to, but while admiring their/ it's way of being, it's important to live with your basics (your natural characteristics). For example, a part in this book that I relates to this is when Freak says that he wants a bionic body. He wants this because he admires robots/robotics and technology and he ignores who he already is! So therefore, I think that these lessons are very valuable to keep in mind in our lifetime because without it, we wouldn't have a motivational guidance within ourselves to tell us what it is that will help keep us having inner confidence and live a well planned and successful life.

  1. Hey Dia! I think this post was very well thought out and it made a lot of sense. I, for example, know what it feels like to wish you could be someone else. Sometimes you just feel like that person has everything that you want- but like you said, it's important to get used to who you are and not change for anyone or anything, and just learn to feel comfortable in your own skin, although I also think that takes a lot of time. It's not like one day you'll just wake up loving every little thing about yourself, but eventually, you have to learn to just love yourself the way you are :)

  2. Dia,I think what you said was very, very true! Everyone is supposed to act like themselves, but sometimes you just feel insecure and do not know what to do sometimes. I feel like that sometimes,I mean who doesn't? Anyways this was really good! Nice job :)

  3. Hi Ali! That is so accurate and true what you said and I agree with you on every word. I agree with when you said that "It takes a lot of time to feel comfortable in your own skin and that it's not like you'll just wake up and love every little piece of you." You're absolutely right! Thanks for the comment! :D

  4. Hey Micaella! I think that you are absolutely right as well! It seems as though this may be a strong world-wide theme, connection, and lesson because everyone shares something like what you, Ali, and I so far have come across and agreed upon. That is, that we all may feel a little insecure at some point in our lifetime and we might wish that we could look like, feel like, or act like someone/thing else! This is obviously a strong topic that we as a world can all probably connect to! ;)
